Village Green Turf has over 170 years combined experience and proven credibility in the industry, we have a proven accredited PBR turf variety with over 1,500,000 sqm laid throughout Australia per year. Started the Company

2004

Village Green was developed in Australia for Australian conditions. Trials were conducted from 2003 to 2008 around Australia comparing over 70 strains. The stand out performer across all climates and conditions was Village Green. Trials were conducted in harsh conditions with temperatures ranging from 40 degrees centigrade in the summer to minus 3 degrees in winter.

PBR Awarded

2010

There is no other Kikuyu that has gone through such a market driven rigors testing and selection program. Village Green is a premium turf variety which is far superior to common Kikuyu. Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) for Village Green was granted by IP Australia in June 2008. Plant Breeders Rights certificate and trade mark protection is a sign of a quality grass.

Europe Launch

2016

Europe had couch and zoysia but not a lot of kikuyu and with the advantages of warm season grass being recognised as a good match for the Europe market, they were ready to experience first hand the benefits of Village Green PBR Kikuyu.

Why choose Village Green turf?

Village Green is a medium/fine textured, soft grass with a deep green colour. has a dense cover that smothers weeds (removing the need for herbicides). It requires less water and fertiliser than other warm season turf varieties, does not have unsightly seed heads, and is pollen-free. There are other warm season grasses on the market, but none can match the combination of looks, texture, toughness and sustainability of Village Green.
